Too Smart for your Own Good?

Have you been singled out for your ability to "figure things out?"
Are you the one others turn to when they're stressed, to help them decide their next steps?
Do you often give support to others, but have a hard time reaching out with your own "ask" when things get hard?
Do you feel resentful when your friends don't reciprocate?
Do your kids, your partner, your co-workers let problems slide until you have to step in and save the day?
If you've answered "yes" to even one of these questions,
you may be experiencing the Curse of Capability!
What's the Curse of Capability?
It's an oxymoronic, funny term for that tendency some of us gifted ones have to share our resources a little too freely, without considering the costs.
We're smart. We can figure things out quickly.
We're generous. We want to help.
We're anxious. We're uncomfortable with discomfort.
So we give, sometimes without forethought.
And over time, this can lead to resentment, burnout, and carelessness.
We've been taught that quick thinking, multitasking, and "helping"
can bring us satisfying relationships and a fulfilling life.
But the truth is, there's a price we pay for taking on more than our fair share:
We miss things.
We make mistakes.
We don't appreciate what is right in front of us.
We don't connect as deeply as we want to with those we care about.
Yet the idea of slowing down, of pausing,
can bring up panic and anxious feelings.
So we try even harder to create a successful day or career or life,
yet that nagging anxiousness just won't go away.
It doesn't make sense, I know, but there is power
in pausing just long enough to notice things.
It sounds counterintuitive, but slowing down and paying attention
to the signals your body is sending you can actually speed up your life.
Bringing ALL of the parts of you onboard is the key to a balanced, dynamic, engaged, and purposeful life.
And once you learn how to do that, amazing and powerful things start to happen:
Your decisions become clearer.
Your wisdom guides you higher.
You spend less time going back over the same thoughts again and again.
You develop a calmer way of life with deeper results and better relationships.
You actually get more done by not trying so hard!
If you've tried thinking harder and faster and found yourself more frustrated than evolved,
isn't it time to try something different?
Working with me may be that something different for you.
I've helped hundreds of super smart, high-achieving souls like you who are ready for what's next.
